OXO Good Grips POP 10-Piece set review: square canisters, one-handed seal, pantry only

Ten square canisters from a 0.4-quart spice jar to a 4.4-quart flour bin, each sealed by pushing the button on the lid and opened by pushing it again. They stack without gaps, show what is inside and go in the top rack of the dishwasher. They are pantry containers and nothing else — not for leftovers, not for the microwave — and that is the whole review.

Best packing cubes for a carry-on: five sets from a three-cube kit to a six-piece compression set, by the makers' sizes

Packing cubes only work if they fit the bag: a 14 by 10 inch cube lies flat in a personal-item backpack, an 18 by 13.75 inch one fills a carry-on and nothing smaller. Five sets from Eagle Creek, Bagail, Gonex, BAGSMART and Shacke, compared on cube dimensions, piece count, material and compression, from the makers' pages where they publish them and the listing, marked, where they do not.

Best personal-item backpacks for US airlines: five bags measured against the 18 x 14 x 8 inch rule

On American and Frontier the personal item is 18 by 14 by 8 inches; JetBlue says 17 by 13 by 8; Delta and Southwest say only that it must fit under the seat. A 19-inch backpack is over the line on paper and usually fine in practice, until it is not. Five backpacks from 16 to 40 liters, compared on the makers' dimensions, weight and laptop fit against the airlines' published limits.

Personal item vs carry-on: what US airlines allow, in inches, and how to pack for the fare you bought

A basic-economy or budget fare includes a personal item and charges for a carry-on; the difference is measured in inches at the gate. This guide lists what American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and Frontier publish for each, read from their own pages on one day, explains what is missing and why, and shows how to pack a weekend into the smaller bag — with four bags as worked examples.

Best power banks you can take on a plane: five from 5,000 to 25,000 mAh, all under the FAA's 100 Wh line

A power bank is a lithium battery, and the FAA has rules: spares and power banks go in the cabin only, and anything over 100 watt-hours needs the airline's say-so. Five banks from a 3.5 oz plug-in to a 25,000 mAh laptop battery, every one under 100 Wh, compared on capacity, output, weight and ports from the makers — with the watt-hour figure stated or computed for each.

Shark PowerDetect Cordless (IP1255) review: the big bin and the five-year warranty, at 8.1 pounds

Shark's sensor stick reads edges, floor type and direction and adjusts power on its own; it also has the biggest dust cup on our list at 0.7 quarts, a HEPA post-motor filter, and a five-year limited warranty where Dyson gives two. The price is weight — 8.1 lb, the heaviest stick we have on file — and a six-hour charge. This review is about whether the bin and the warranty are worth the pounds.

Best small air fryers for one or two people: six from 2 to 5 quarts that fit a real counter

Most air fryers are sold to families and sized for them. For one or two people the questions are different: will it fit under the cabinets, can one person lift it, and does a 2-quart basket actually feed anyone? Six compact machines, 2 to 5 quarts, compared on the makers' own capacities, wattage, dimensions and weights.

Best electric kettles for a small kitchen: six from a 1-liter cool-touch to a 1.7-liter with temperature presets

Americans microwave water because the stovetop kettle takes five minutes. An electric kettle on a 120 V outlet takes two or three — and the right one for a small kitchen is not the biggest. Six kettles from 0.8 to 1.7 liters, compared on the makers' own wattage, footprint, materials and temperature controls, for one or two people and a counter that is already full.

Best under-bed storage: six boxes and bags from 6.1 inches tall, measured against the gap under your bed

Under-bed storage fails in one way: the box is taller than the gap. The second way is that it is longer than the bed is wide, so it sticks out. Four rigid boxes from Sterilite and IRIS and two fabric bags, compared on height, length, capacity and lid, with the makers' figures where the makers publish them and the listing's — marked — where they do not.

Watts, PD, PPS and cables: how to read a USB-C charger before you buy one

A USB-C charger's box says 65 W and the phone charges at 18. The reasons are all on the spec sheet if you know which lines to read: the voltage profiles, the PPS range, what the ports share, and whether the cable can carry it. This guide explains each in plain terms, with four chargers and a power bank as worked examples from the makers' own figures.
